ÖZKA TYRES KEEPS INCREASING ITS PRODUCTION QUALITY WITH THE MES PROJECT

The MES Project which was initialized in 2018 under the leadership of Kanık Group of Companies Board of Directors and ÖZKA Quality Department continues to make significant contributions to establishing the concept of end-to-end traceability in ÖZKA.

MES, the third level process at the PERA architecture, is a system that connects the live production data of multiple facilities and also becomes easily integrated with the equipment and the enterprise resource planning (ERP) implementations.

HUMAN-INDUCED ERRORS BECOME MINIMIZED WITH THE PRODUCTION OPTIMIZATION

MES promises the most important subject is “production optimization” with the production and processes ensuring complete visibility.

MES helps minimize human-induced errors by providing real-time quality data controls, efficiency monitoring, automatic implementation of the specifications and business rules, traceability of the part, device, or unit.

The biggest contribution of the MES system to the production processes in terms of minimizing the error rate in the business is that it minimizes the operator initiative. The operator starts by scanning his/her personnel card to the system, and if the machine stops within 240 seconds because of any reason (the time can be arranged differently), the machine won’t be activated unless the problem is defined to the system.

In the production with MES, from the first stage to the last stage, the follow-up of the blending is carried up via the barcoded tags and the efficiency of the operators can be followed up via Andon Screens inside the factory to evaluate the project efficiency.

The importance of this project for ÖZKA Tyres stands out as it is the only MES project implemented in the tyre industry that provides full traceability in the mixture preparation unit with the arrival of the raw material and minimizes the operator's initiative.
